Lawn signs, flyers and door-knocking supplies all cost money. A contribution of any size helps us reach more neighbours across Davenport.

You may get most of your contribution back

The City of Toronto runs a Contribution Rebate Program: residents who contribute to a participating council candidate can claim a share of it back from the City. For example, a $100 contribution returns $75.

Rebates are worked out on the **total** you give to all participating candidates — not on what you give this campaign alone. $1,000 is the most anyone can claim.

Contributions may only come from individuals who normally live in Ontario. Corporations and trade unions cannot contribute. Goods and services are not eligible for a rebate.
Municipal campaign contributions are not tax-deductible and do not qualify for a federal or provincial income-tax credit — this City rebate is offered instead.
Two different limits, and they are not the same thing. How much you may give is set by the Municipal Elections Act — up to $1,200 to any one council candidate, and $5,000 across all candidates for the same council. How much you may claim back is the City rebate above, worked out on your total and capped at $1,000.
We will send you an official Contribution Rebate Receipt and Application Form. You need it to claim.
Claims for the 2026 election must reach Toronto Elections by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2027.
